The Scope
In partnership with Y365, AX Digital was engaged to deliver the UX and UI for a new website as well as ensuring compliance with corporate styling for the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) in Melbourne, Victoria. The existing website was old and outdated, clunky, and not mobile-friendly.
The Main Objective
The main objective for the team at AX Digital was to update the PBO’s website and create a modern design that would be user-friendly and accessible on all devices. Working closely with the team at Y365, we developed a detailed XD document that outlined the direction and corporate identity within one fluid document.
With Y365 being tasked with delivering the development of the website, they wanted our help directing user engagement and interface application so that each user could find relevant information easily. Using XD as our main design point whilst keeping in mind Microsoft’s applications were key details for building out this website.
One challenge we faced was working with key stakeholders and ensuring we collaborated with all involved to ensure key elements were displayed on their site. This somewhat delayed delivery slightly but ultimately helped us achieve a better result.
By creating different ways of delivering information needed on the website using platforms like Power BI we had a limited color palette and typeface to choose from. However, by including every possible graphic element that could be needed within one document, we created an effective solution that satisfied all parties involved.
The Solution
The team at AX Digital used Adobe XD as our main design point but also considered Microsoft’s applications such as Power BI, Word, Excel etc., when building out this site enabling the final result to showcase each budget campaign with great graphics. The client was happy with our work, and we continue to work together from time to time on other jobs.
Collaborating with Y365, we were able to deliver a modern, user-friendly website that exceeded the client’s requirements whilst overcoming unique challenges along the way.
