Harry Evans & Sons is a pool table company based in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Wanting to get their old website looking modern and fresh whilst showcasing their craftsmanship and selling pool tables, they approached AX Digital to create a new website. Starting with an old website that was outdated and didn’t reflect the quality of the products offered by Harry Evans & Sons, we set out to create a website with an art deco feeling, consistent with their brand identity, whilst also being modern. Challenges faced throughout the project included timings due to client availability, and design. To create an art deco feeling via the site we ensured decorative elements were used effectively throughout the site.
Creating an e-commerce site in WordPress with WooCommerce, we allowed for integration of online sales. We accumulated images for the tables both insitu and in the warehouse with help from Luke at Harry Evans, and set up payment gateways for online purchases. We also created a blog for SEO purposes.
To ensure delivery of a premium website, the team at AX Digital worked through each page, product, and post to ensure nothing was breaking across the site. We optimised the site for best possible outcomes by using industry standards such as WordPress as the base, WooCommerce as the e-commerce solution, PayPal for payments, and Google apps such as Recapcha, Analytics, Search Console, and My Business.
The final result was a cool-looking website with an art deco style that showcased craftsmanship while providing e-commerce functionality. The client was able to upload new products himself and sell them online.
